Guidelines for Blood Sampling

1. Blood to be sampled from the neck without clipping wool around the neck.

2. From each animal, a full 7ml or 10ml EDTA tube (lilac/pink tops) is required. 

3. Each tube to be labelled with the animal's sex and ID. 

4. Fresh samples should be sent, first class, to  Grant Walling at the Roslin Institute.  For the full address click here. 

5. Samples collected on Thursdays or Fridays should be stored at 4c over the weekend and sent the following Monday to avoid a
